Among her achievements since joining the company in 2000, Shelja has earned Votenet’s top salesperson award for five years, and increased the company’s client retention rate to 91% by optimizing account management processes.
Adept at realizing the potential of new markets, Shelja guided Votenet’s expansion into Europe, Japan, and the Middle East, significantly increasing sales volumes in these regions over time. Charged with tapping into new vertical markets as well, Shelja has directed the company’s continued success in the technology, healthcare, entertainment, and real estate industries, among others.
Continuously optimizing online election processes and the software supporting them, Shelja utilizes her client consulting and project management experience to conduct ongoing election impact research and test eBallot®, Votenet’s market-leading enterprise-level online voting software, in real-world situations faced by clients in order to ensure their success.
Shelja brings over 16 years of account management experience to her role at Votenet, previously serving as marketing specialist at software development firm Creative Consulting Solutions, Inc., and overseeing advertising operations for The Living Media Group and The Reader’s Digest magazine.
Fluent in Spanish, Shelja earned her accounting and economics degree and postgraduate in management, and is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, volunteer with Greater DC Cares & AmeriCorps, an avid hiker and kayaker.
