1.  What is eBallot?
eBallot is a 100% web-based software product that enables organizations to run and manage online elections and votes.
 
 
2.  How easy is it to use?
eBallot is the pioneer in self-managed online voting software.  Our self-managed model means that election administrators can setup their own ballots in minutes using a simple administrative web site.
 

Our Setup Wizard guides election administrators step by step through the process of creating an online vote or an election.  Ballot categories, candidate and issue choices, ballot rules and candidate biographies can be created in minutes simply by copying and pasting or typing content directly into eBallot.

Once your vote has officially started, eBallot will handle all other aspects of the election.  The software will authenticate voters, error-check ballots before they are submitted, tabulate results, and prevent double-voting and security breaches.
 
 
3.  How do voters access the ballot?

Your votes can vote online in minutes.  Your voting web site will have a unique address where voters can go to access the ballot.  Before viewing the ballot, voters will be prompted to login using their specified username and password.

 
 
4.  Will the voting web site look like my organization’s web site?

Yes, your eBallot voting web site is personalized and branded with the look and feel of your existing web site.  During the account setup process, our team will work with you to choose graphics and wrap the desired web site template around eBallot.  This co-branded “feel” creates continuity and will make the voting experience more comfortable for voters.  

 
 
5.  How do you authenticate voters?

eBallot authenticates voters based on their login credentials.  Before viewing the ballot, voters will be asked to login with a username and password.  If a username and password does not match with a record in the voter list, the voter will be denied access to the ballot. 

 
 
6.  How do you prevent double voting?

Our robust security configuration and architecture prevents double voting.  Once a voter has cast their vote, their login credentials are removed from the eligible voter list.  Voters that try to login after casting a vote, will be unable to view the ballot and vote again.

 
 
7.  How do you protect the secrecy of the votes and the results?

The results of the election are stored safely in a secure database that resides in our heavily fortified hosting facility.  No one from the outside will have access to your election data. 

Election administrators, however, can access a results report by logging-in to their secure eBallot Election Commission web site using their login credentials.  Depending on their organization’s election rules, administrators can either view results in real-time as the election occurs or upon the completion of the voting period.  

 
 
8.  Are the results anonymous or non-anonymous?
Depending on your election rules, results can either be anonymous or non-anonymous.  eBallot enables you to choose which option is right for you.

All clients can view online results reports that detail the rank order of the candidates, the votes received and the percentage of the total vote.  eBallot also offers time and date stamps so that you can view when each vote was cast.  In addition, organizations that choose non-anonymous results are able to view the voter associated with each vote.
 
 
9.  What equipment is needed to use eBallot?
The only equipment needed is a computer and a web browser.  Your eBallot voting software is hosted and maintained in our secure hosting facility.  We provide all of the security and infrastructure equipment including redundant servers, redundant databases, firewalls, SSL security certificates, server monitoring software, etc.
 
 
10.  Does it require software to be downloaded?
There is no software to download.  eBallot is 100% web-based software.
 
 
11.  Will participation in my election increase?
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that participation in your vote will increase.  However, we typically find that online voting does boost overall voter turnout.  Voters often find it easier and more convenient to vote online

To increase your turnout, we recommend aggressive marketing of your vote and consistent communication with your voters.  eBallot is equipped with numerous communication tools, including an Election Reminder Email (ERE) system that can send targeted emails that encourage eligible voters to participate.
 
 
12.  How long is the setup period?
Typically, from the date of purchase, your eBallot account will be available and ready for use within 15 (fifteen) business days.
 
 
13.  How many elections and votes can I run?
eBallot is a yearly software license that you must renew each year.  We offer two different license packages.  Most of our clients choose our unlimited package, which enables you to run an unlimited number of votes and elections throughout the year for one low price

This package offers a tremendous ROI and can dramatically reduce your overall election/voting budget.  Our unlimited package enables you to run votes without incurring any additional charges. You won’t have to pay a setup fee for your 2nd, 3rd, 4th election, etc.  Best of all, you’ll have the ability to run an election at a moments notice. Conducting run-off elections or emergency votes will be quick and easy, and won’t cost more money.
 
 
14.  What customer support options do you offer?
eBallot is determined to deliver online election perfection to your organization.  Your success is our #1 priority.Therefore, we offer several support options, including a world-class Self Help Portal and on-demand customer support.
 
 
15.  What if I don’t want to self-manage my election and want someone else to run it?
If you don’t feel comfortable setting-up your ballot, then we can help.  You can outsource a portion or all of your election to our CustomBallot Consulting division.  Our Team is comprised of election and technology experts who can plan, manage and market your vote(s) and election(s).  Our team can also develop customized balloting applications and security configurations for clients with unique voting requirements.
