Washington, D.C., July 10, 2008 - Votenet™ Solutions, Inc., the leading provider of eGovernance solutions including secure online voting and nomination software for associations, corporations, law firms, non-profits, universities, and organizations, announced today that the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) are using eBallot™ to streamline governance operations and deliver a convenient way for members to submit nominations and election ballots online.
CAI, a national organization dedicated to fostering vibrant homeowner associations, turned to eBallot to fully automate both a complex nomination process and three simultaneous elections to elect members to their three governing boards.
Previously members completed paper-based nomination forms. CAI had the difficult task of organizing, reviewing, and approving these nomination applications. With eBallot, members were able to submit their information and pictures and complete the nomination process online. Nominations were stored securely and CAI staff was able to review and approve each nomination online using eBallot's nomination management system, streamlining workflow and saving time.
eBallot's integrated approach to nominations and voting also simplified the setup of CAI's online ballots. Because approved nominees were already stored in the eBallot system, CAI's election administrator was able to quickly and easily add candidates to its ballots, never having to retype or reformat candidate names and information.
"The integration of our member database with eBallot enables our members to use the same login information for our main organization website and the election website, making it easy to access. The ability to heavily market the election to members through automatic e-mail reminders, our newsletters and website led to increased member participation. Our members responded very positively to the online elections, and due to the independent third party process, everyone has complete confidence in the results," stated Jennifer Flynn, Director of Governance, Community Associations Institute.
ACSM, the largest sports medicine and exercise science organization in the world, switched to eBallot after using another election solution to manage its governing board election process. By streamlining the entire voting and results tabulation process, eBallot has helped AASLD reduce costs and time spent administering their elections.
"We really enjoy having control over eBallot. If an email needs to go out, we can send it. If someone doesn't have their password, I can get it for them. Our members are increasingly using eBallot to vote online during elections, and although we receive very few requests for printed materials, having the paper-based process work in synch with eBallot has made it very smooth. We're already seeing a reduction in administration time and costs for operating the elections, and look forward to continuing to use eBallot to decrease them further," stated Chris Sawyer, Director of Membership and Chapter Services, American College of Sports Medicine.
"Associations are looking for new ways to engage members and offer convenient benefits, and we're seeing more and more associations interested in moving their governance functions online. Over 500 associations have already incorporated our online voting software into their governance program. Nominations are the first step in any election/voting process and eBallot makes it easier than ever to solicit and collect nominations and increase member participation in the process," stated Michael Tuteur, Chief Executive Officer and President, Votenet Solutions, Inc.
