Under his leadership, the company has grown from an idea to the #1 provider of 100% web-based election software in over a dozen vertical markets. Today, with a portfolio of three online voting products, a cutting-edge election consulting practice and over 700 clients spanning three continents, Votenet Solutions is the global leader in delivering online election success to private organizations.
Pioneering the concept of deploying self-administered, web-based voting software to replace paper-based ballots and traditional voting methods, Michael helped to develop the most advanced enterprise-level online voting software product on the market, eBallot®, in 2001. Other significant company milestones during Michael’s tenure include: |
- The highly successful launch of the company's VOTENET™ Voting On Demand product, the world’s first web-based election software for small associations and organizations
- The introduction of eduBallotsup>®, the first solution designed specifically for automating voting for K-12 schools
- The creation of the Custom Ballot Consulting division and the successful implementation of several specialized online voting and security systems for high profile entertainment industry award shows
Under Michael's guidance, Votenet has also broken new ground in online voter registration software. Its Election Impact system is the #1 voter registration solution for associations, unions and advocacy organizations. Its Absentee Impact software is also the first-ever automated absentee voter registration solution on the market. To date, Votenet's software has helped over 2,000,000 people register to vote.
Prior to becoming President and CEO, from 1999-2003 Michael consulted with associations and corporations on the use of technology in campaign finance research, fundraising, web site development, voter registration, and grassroots advocacy. Launching his career as a Technology Consultant, Michael provided consulting services and developed a strategic technology plan for the Parliamentary Advisory Committee for Transport Safety in London, England. Michael also conducted a survey of Members of Parliament regarding their use of electronic communication and Internet technology, leading to a published White Paper regarding the use of technology within the British political system.
Michael joined Votenet in 1999 after graduating from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Marketing Certificate from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business.
