The National Radio Hall of Fame & Museum was created to commemorate the giants of a medium that has permeated American society for most of the 20th century. It recognizes and showcases contemporary talent from today's diverse programming formats, as well as the pioneers who shaped the medium during its infancy. The Radio Hall of Fame includes executives, writers, producers, directors, and on-air personalities of all types, ranging from disc jockeys and musicians to sportscasters and newscasters.
With paper ballots, we'd get a lot of returns. Votenet helps us clean up our database with bouncebacks for our emails.
Challenges
A committee member from the National Radio Hall of Fame & Museum recognized the need to switch the organization to online voting. Their membership database contained outdated addresses, and NRHF recognized the need to reach more members. In addition, the group wanted to help members understand the importance of participating in the voting process. Plus, as a virtual museum, the group knew moving to online voting made sense for their members.
Solutions
With Votenet's eBallot, the National Radio Hall of Fame had the best turnout in more than five years. "It made it easier for our voters. Plus Votenet created a way for voters to be able to listen to a clip of the nominees - two-minute montages of their career - a wonderful addition to our process," said NRHF's Gina Loizzo.
Impact
"We looked at all the statistics - and the groups that went with Votenet - before we made our decision. Votenet's got a lot of great partners. It's been a great way to build credibility for our organization and our voting procedures, since results come from another source. We plan to use Votenet again; it's our new way of balloting,'" Loizzo added.
